Moment tracking device allegedly placed on dad's car days before he was 'tortured to death'
This is the moment a tracking device was allegedly placed on a car belonging to a dad who prosecutors say was 'tortured to death' five days later. Thomas Campbell was picking up his daughter from school when the device was placed under his Ford Transit van, Bolton Crown Court has heard.
Prosecutors claim that Mr Belfield plotted to rob Mr Campbell of 'items of value' from his home. Mr Belfield is said to have read a Manchester Evening News article about Mr Campbell and his ex-wife's 'wealthy lifestyle'. Jurors heard that a Ford Focus containing Mr Belfield, Mr Cleworth and Mr Steven parked on the same street at 2.57pm, before Mr Campbell arrived at 3.05pm. After Mr Campbell got out of the car and walked towards the school, Mr Cleworth and Mr Steven emerged from the Ford Focus, the jury was told.
