Police have launched a probe after the incident happened on Glasgow Road in Dumbarton at around 12.30pm on Saturday.
This is the horror moment when a pedestrian was hit by a car while trying to protect his home from floods.
The resident filming can be heard saying "wow, wow" as the driver continues up the street. The car then stops at a set of traffic lights before the man who was knocked down comes running towards it. A source said: "The guy was hit by the car in Dumbarton East. Waves from the cars were flooding people's houses so he was trying to stop the traffic. He was struck by the car then ran up to confront him before the driver sped off."
