Brooks said he had not changed and was still 'the only proven America First candidate in this Senate race' in Alabama.
He said that Trump asked him as a lawyer to rescind the 2020 elections, remove Biden from the White House and hold a new election for the presidency. Brooks said that as a lawyer, he has previously advised Trump that January 6—whencertified the election results after several recounts, was the final election contest. Trump has refused to accept this.
"I've told President Trump the truth knowing full well that it might cause President Trump to rescind his endorsement," Brooks said."But I took a sworn oath to defend and protect the U.S. Constitution. I honor my oath. That is the way I am. I break my sworn oath for no man. "I'm still the most conservative candidate in the race. Katie Britt's campaign is supported and funded by McConnell allies, and she's still a high taxing, open borders, cheap foreign labor, Chamber of Commerce lobbyist. There's only one conservative option in this race, and I am confident that the people of Alabama will see that on Election Day."
Trump had endorsed Brooks in April 2021, making him the instant favorite in the race to succeed retiring Republican Sen. Richard Shelby. But a recent poll suggests Brooks has struggled to find his footing and may lose to Republican rivals Mike Durant or Katie Britt.on March 16 showed Trump criticizing Brooks for the first time, calling him"disappointing," citing his poor performance in the race and poor campaign staffing.
