Mother of pitcher's child says he choked, slapped her; Padres release statement saying they're 'aware' of investigation
Former Padres pitcher Mike Clevinger is under investigation by Major League Baseball following allegations of domestic violence.
Clevinger’s agent, Seth Levinson, said Tuesday afternoon that a statement would be issued shortly on behalf of his client.“We are aware of MLB’s investigation and completely support their efforts under the Joint Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault and Child Abuse policy. Due to the ongoing investigative process, we cannot comment any further at this time.”
Last year, Clevinger went 7-7 with a 4.33 ERA over 114 1/3 innings in his first year back from the second Tommy John surgery of his career.
