During a media briefing on Tuesday, the IEC announced that only the faces of registered party leaders will appear on the ballot. However, there are still some outstanding issues that may lead to the reconfiguration of the ballot. The Electoral Court still has five outstanding judgements on parties that are challenging their exclusion from the ballot.
Deputy chief electoral officer Masego Shehuri says the IFP will not get its wish on having its late president, Mangosuthu Buthelezi, on the ballot.
