An autistic man from Duncan reported missing late last month has been found safe and sound, according to RCMP.
On Sunday, July 31, North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP reported that Daniel Scott, 53, had left his home the Wednesday before and hadn’t been seen since.
It prompted an extensive search as Cowichan Search and Rescue , as well as SAR teams from Metchosin, Juan De Fuca, Saanich, Saltspring and Nanaimo, combed the area with help from Duncan residents. At the time, SAR teams said they were “very concerned” for Scott’s well-being because he reportedly had no food or water amid a hot stretch of weather.Sign up for our newsletter to get breaking news and daily digests sent to your email. In an updated Facebook post, CSAR echoed police and confirmed that Scott had returned home safe. “Thank you to all in the community who were boots on the ground and eyes on the street…” the post said.
