Miss World South Africa: Dr Claude Mashego to represent SA at Miss World
The first-ever Miss World South Africa pageant took place on Saturday at the State Theatre in Pretoria.Dr Claude Mashego emerged victorious and will represent South Africa at the Miss World pageant next year. Mashego, 24, was crowned at the first-ever Miss World South Africa pageant on Saturday at the State Theatre in Pretoria.
On the red carpet, Miss World South Africa judge and former title holder Rolene Strauss shared the news that she was expecting her third child. After scoring the rights to broadcast the Miss South Africa pageant on SABC for the first time in 23 years, SABC3 is looking to position itself as the home of pageantry in South Africa.They walked the stage numerous times, showcasing looks from various designers while musicians such as Mthandazo Gatya, Unathi Nkayi and Jimmy Dludlu performed.
The top five was made up of Mashego, Motheo Mokoto, Asande Mchunu, Zoalise Jansen van Rensburg and Alyssa Joan Smith. locally made crown "There will be communities I can never reach for geographical reasons and because I am just one person. But can you imagine what we could achieve if young people across this country and continent came together with the common goal of building Africa into the powerhouse we know it can be," the 24-year-old medical doctor said.
