Fernando Tatis Jr. hit a towering home run in the minor leagues on Wednesday, and not everyone was happy about it – including the pitcher who threw him the meatball.
“Cheater hits a homerun on a rehab assignment during a steroid suspension,” McClure quote-tweeted the original post.
The 24-year-old Tatis was suspended for 80 games in August after a positive PED test, with his suspension taking up the remainder of the 2022 season and stretching into 2023.He is afforded a 15-game rehab stint in the minors, and Wednesday was the second of those games. The Padres’ star shortstop, who signed a 14-year, $330 million extension in 2021, appears to be in midseason form already – though, his minor league opponents are not exactly thrilled about that.McClure, 27, was not listed as one of the Giants’ top prospects in 2023 by Baseball Pipeline.

Anyone convicted of breaking the law will face two to five years in prison and could also be sued by the minor’s parent or guardian. Opponents have promised to challenge the law in court.
