The General Secretary of Joint National Public Service Negotiating Council, Alade Lawal, said during a meeting of the Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria at a separate location in Abuja that mobilisation of workers for a possible industrial action after October 16, 2019, had reached an advanced stage.
”How many people are there? So when you even look at the circular, it is full of errors. As far as we are concerned, no circular has been issued.”Mr Lawal said organised labour was not opposed to discussion, consultations ”or anything to resolve the minimum wage issues”. “The purpose is to address the threat of labour and how the FG and labour can reach an amicable solution over the new minimum wage of N30,000. It is a closed-door meeting so only the government representatives and the union leaders are involved.”
