Visitors will be able to walk inside the cargo area of a C2A-Greyhound, introduced in 1965 and used to ferry people and supplies to aircraft carriers
When the USS Midway was a working aircraft carrier, it sometimes got visited by planes like the C-2A Greyhound ferrying people and supplies out to sea, and then back to land.on San Diego’s waterfront, has added a Greyhound to its collection for visitors to see on the flight deck.
The Greyhound had a range of more than 1,000 miles and could carry up to 10,000 pounds of supplies, museum officials said. It was flown by a crew of four: two pilots and two cargo specialists. Passengers in the cargo area had the odd experience of flying backwards; their seats faced to the rear.
