Search parties including police and firefighters are looking for TV star Dr Michael Mosley on the Greek island of Symi after his sudden disappearance four days ago
Firefighters searching for the miss TV star Dr Michael Mosley have said the operation is "dangerous". Due to the hot and dry conditions on the island of Symi, in Greece, emergency services are struggling to carry out their search.
Firefighter Stergos Giakoumakis said from near one of the peaks: “Because it’s not so easy to bring here 100 people, especially this period, because it’s the most dangerous period.Helicopters, drones, dogs and a number of emergency responders continue to scour the Greek island. Local police were informed about the disappearance of the 67-year-old British national on the island on Wednesday, and was last spotted in person leaving St Nicholas Beach by foot.
Michael's wife, Dr Claire Bailey, has been searching the island joined by her British friends, mayor Eleftherios Papakaloudoukas added. He added that the area where Dr Mosley is believed to have travelled through is “difficult to pass” and is “only rocks”. It is also populated by “loads” of snakes, he said.
