ICYMI: Michael Jackson makes brief Regina court appearance

Michael Gordon Jackson is accused of taking his daughter on Dec. 6 and depriving his ex-wife of possession of her, contravening a custody order made by the Saskatchewan Court of Appeal.

Jackson appeared from custody by telephone, and a short exchange took place between Judge Anna Crugnale-Reid and a Legal Aid Saskatchewan lawyer present in court, who said someone in his office had agreed to represent Jackson, but the matter would need to be adjourned. When the judge asked Jackson whether he’d heard what was said, he responded that he’d just obtained a different lawyer.“Yes, friends of mine have,” Jackson replied.A prosecutor present in court noted the Crown will be seeking an order for Jackson to have no contact while in custody with two individuals, both of whom shared the same last name as the accused.Jackson is scheduled to appear in court again this month. The news seems to be flying at us faster all the time.
