Both camps have agreed to the fight with official confirmation expected later this week
Michael Conlan is set to fight IBF World featherweight champion Luis Alberto Lopez in Belfast on May 27.
It will be Lopez's first defence of the belt he won against Josh Warrington back in December, while Conlan gets a second shot at a world title following his devastating knockout loss to Leigh Wood in Nottingham last year.The IBF have received official confirmation that Conlan and Lopez have agreed to meet in what promises to be a massive night of boxing in Belfast.
Speaking to Belfast Live back in February, Conlan Boxing's Jamie Conlan said Lopez would be a "tough fight" for his brother. "It is a tough fight but one I am very confident Michael will win. The talks have been encouraging so far and everything is moving in the right direction.The card will be shown live in the UK on BT Sport and is expected to feature unbeaten Belfast boxer Padraig McCrory.
