Former Man City and England star Micah Richards provided punditry on Portugal's penalty shoot-out win over Slovenia for the BBC.
, Portugal advanced on spot-kicks after Diogo Costa made three saves to set up a quarter final showdown with France on Friday.At half-time, Richards took a look at Portugal's disappointing first-half showing and then mentioned that he had a connection with manager Roberto Martinez, formerly of Belgium, Everton, Wigan and Swansea.He said: "I worked with Roberto. He’s so on it with his tactics, details of it, he knows exactly what to do.
Earlier on Monday France knocked out Martinez's former side Belgium courtesy of a late Jan Vertonghen own goal in Dusseldorf.
