Second attack in two weeks sees trams suspended between Bury and Whitefield

A section of a Metrolink was suspended this morning after thieves stole trackside electricity cabling.

The suspension - which caused disruption to commuters - was expected to be lifted during Wednesday afternoon. Tram tickets were being accepted on on a number of bus services .It is the second act of vandalism on the line in two weeks - the line was suspended between Bury and Crumpsall 'due to an act of vandalism' on August 10, Metrolink said at the time.
