SAN ANTONIO — Flu season is here, but luckily right now the activity level is low in Bexar County. However, Metro Health wants you to be protected from the virus. That why their holding a mass vacination event at the Alamodome on Wednesday.
The event is first come, first serve and the vaccines are free for those who come out to get the shot.Flu season began on October 1, which is when Metro Health began tracking the data for Bexar County. Right now, the positivity rates appears to spike between week one and two. But Metro Health says that rate of 65% is based on one week's worth of data.Still, Metro Health says the vaccine is the first step towards protection, especially for those in the community vulnerable to illness.
