The upcoming Metro FM Awards, returning after a five-year break, have been postponed.
Their last staging, in 2017, was overshadowed by controversy and claims of corruption by late musician Riky Rick.The SABC has promised that the public would not be disappointed that it had to wait a week longer for the 17th staging of its upcoming The awards will now take place on Saturday, 6 May, in Mbombela, Mpumalanga, instead of Saturday, 29 April. The public broadcaster announced the return of the awards, after a five-year absence, in January"The SABC apologises to the public that they will have to wait an extra week to witness the return of this highly anticipated event," SABC radio boss Nada Wotshela said in the statement.
