Stanley Fenton had buried the valuable bracelet on his rural property for safekeeping, and it was lost for about 25 years.
It had been only a minute since he had started searching for long-buried treasure on a wooded acreage outside of Edgewood, a settlement in the Central Kootenays.
He had returned to the area where he thought it was hundreds of times over the years, but had no luck finding his hiding spot. “I thought to myself, ‘Geez, that’s where I would hide it.’ I walked over to it and sure enough, swung my metal detector and it was there,” Prear said.
