Special Constable charged with rape and sexual offences

Paul Hoile, 40, was arrested on Wednesday evening in Benfleet, Essex, after an incident in Lilleshall, Shropshire, the day before.

He is a Special Constable, which means he volunteers 16 hours per month in the Met Police's North West Command Unit.The charges relate to an incident on Sheriffhales Drive, Lilleshall, on Tuesday.Officers are satisfied there is no risk to the public but visible patrols have been increased across Lilleshall and Newport.
