The Met Office has issued a rare amber warning for torrential rain, flooding and thunder this week across parts of the UK but that should soon all change
The UK is bracing for a sizzling 35C heatwave this summer following a dismal spell of rain and thunderstorms.
The Met Office warnings highlight the possibility of sudden downpours from today until the end of Thursday, during thunderstorms which could result in challenging driving conditions, disruption to train and bus services, potential flooding, and power cuts, reports the Express.The Met Office stated: "Rain will become heavy and persistent later Wednesday and Thursday with flooding and disruption likely.
Current WXCharts weather map predictions indicate that the rain will peak on Thursday, aligning with the Met Office's forecast. The WXCharts maps also suggest June 8 as the earliest date when warmer weather will return after the rainfall. "Finnis was behind a 35C double-heatwave prediction for the summer, stating earlier this month: "Most signals point to a warmer-than-average summer is most likely." The Met Office has given its verdict, stating that conditions will still be "changeable" in June but that warm sunshine is likely to return some time between June 6 and 20.
