The start of September could bring some 'very warm or even hot' temperatures to the UK
The Met Office has issued its latest verdict on whether a heatwave could be on its way to Greater Manchester.
READ MORE: Coronation Street star struck by illness after having to 'cry every day' during last nine months on ITV soap Delivering the latest Met Office verdict, a spokesperson told the Manchester Evening News that despite there being a chance of warmer temperatures on the first day of the month, the highest temperatures will be restricted to the south east of the country and would not be seen as far as Manchester.
While people in the south of the country could be getting one last burst of heat, it looks likely that some will be hit by thunderstorms as well. The Met Office said warm and humid air from the southeast could cause thunderstorms to develop later on Saturday and through into Sunday.
