No other details were provided, though considering Mercedes's pivot towards downsizing and hybridization, we have a strong feeling whatever replaces the AMG GT won't have a fire-breathing V-8, but rather something smaller, such as the high-output inline-four in the C 63. Depending on the car's lifecycle, it could have no engine at all, with engineers opting for a fully electric powertrain to underpin the company's flagship. We'll just have to wait and see.
