Khama Billiat of Kaizer Chiefs deject during the DStv Premiership match between Kaizer Chiefs and Chippa United at Moses Mabhida Stadium.Kaizer Chiefs striker Khama Billiat has opened up on how his injury occurred and the frustration of spending months on sidelines as the DStv Premiership season draws to an end.
By his high-standards, Billiat’s current season with Amakhosi has been one to forget. The 32-year-old has endured a frustrating season riddled with injuries that has seen the 2016 PSL Footballer of the Season feature just 11 times, contributing three assists.Billiat played the full 90 minutes in just five of those 11 appearances. The first setback came in the form of a knee injury in September, that kept Billiat out of action until mid October.
'Gaucho' returned to make three appearances before sustaining another injury, this time a more complicated groin injury that would require surgery."I got injured when we came back from the December break. I picked up a small knock during training," Billiat tells"I thought it was just one of those training little knocks.
"The team took me to a specialist and I had a fracture on the groin and I had to go for an operation. It all went well, thank God."
