Mekeo was a key player for Maritzburg United and was close of joining Mamelodi Sundowns and this weekend plans to remind Masandawana what the club missed out on.

"Yeah, as a player, I can say that I want to show Sundowns what they missed out, but that's not only about me, it is about the team. So whatever I do must be good for the team. For me, it didn't really affect me because Maritzburg United gave me good money to stay for three years, so that comforted me," Mekoa told the media.

"I'm not really sure. I saw an article saying I didn't see eye to eye with Eric Tinkler, but that wasn't the case. Maybe I wasn't in his plans but I hope one day I can have a cup of coffee with him to iron things out. I don't have any issues with him. "I think for me, I wasn't pushing enough as a player, I was too comfortable because was getting game-time every week and as a player you get too comfortable and relaxed. That was my biggest challenge and regret," he added.
