The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are gearing up to make a grand return to the UK, the first time since 2022, as Birmingham has been announced as the new host for the Invictus Games
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are expected to make their first trip to the UK together since 2022. It comes after it was revealed that Birmingham will be the new host of the Invictus Games.
Harry couldn't contain his excitement about the news, expressing his congratulations: "Congratulations to Birmingham, UK, on winning the bid to host the Invictus Games 2027," he enthused. The Duke also highlighted the impact of the games and the spirit of Birmingham: "We have no doubt the people of Birmingham will join in celebrating the unwavering respect and admiration we have for our veteran and service community, showing the world how their courage ignites hope and unites us all - something your city knows well", reports the Mirror.
Harry marked the 10th anniversary of Invictus at a special service in St Paul’s Cathedral in London in May, but he was without Meghan, and there was no appearance by his father King Charles or brother, Prince William.Team UK captain for the Invictus Games, Stephen 'Hoops' Hooper, was thrilled about Birmingham snagging the 2027 event.
