Menopause Together launched earlier this week to mark World Menopause Day

Northern Ireland's first menopause charity launched earlier this week in a bid to help educate on menopause and perimenopause, while calling for a dedicated women's health strategy to be formed.

Speaking to Belfast Live following the charity's launch, she said menopause remains a taboo subject in Northern Ireland, and that more education of the whole population is needed. "The main thing the charity does is educate, empower, and support for a better menopause experience. We definitely think the Public Health Agency needs to get on board with us to maybe do a big campaign to get more information out there. Our driving force was we knew there wasn't enough information for women and at the minute, the Facebook group is heading towards 8,000 members."

"One of our calls to action is for a women's health strategy here in Northern Ireland. We're lagging behind the rest of the UK and the Republic of Ireland.
