A volunteer who has spent five decades with Glasgow Samaritans has been honoured with a British Empire Medal.

Elizabeth McConnell, Glasgow branch director, said: “We nominated Joan in recognition of her amazing achievement of volunteering with Glasgow Samaritans for 50 years.
