Then, Gaul gives credit to the support of her husband, Richard Williams, who she says without whom, she wouldn’t even have gotten a card printed. This artistic talent comes naturally to Gaul, as she says she has always been a creative person, having grown up in a creative household. Her dad was a singer and guitarist and there was always a lot of music around. Her mom also sang and was a hairdresser.
Gaul was never officially taught how to draw or paint. She was always a doodler and would often use this as an outlet when she got bored in class. She credits the start of her artwork to when she started work in early childhood education. Although Pebbles Gaul primarily enjoys working in watercolour, she also dabbles with acrylic, ink, and markers. - ContributedGaul does do commissioned pieces but tries to keep it at a minimum as they sometimes stress her out.For example, she had the best experience with a stranger that became a friend over Etsy. A woman in her late 80s, who lives in Ontario, wanted to order some of Gaul’s cards but was having trouble figuring the platform out.
