A series of “community-led” events celebrating Black History Month are set to get underway in McKinney.

The McKinney Chamber Foundation is planning “McKinney Black History Month 2022: Legends to Legacies” with events and programs scheduled to “honor, celebrate and uplift the contributions of African Americans to the culture and society in McKinney and the surrounding area,” according to the organization.Among the events are:College Megafest on Feb. 10 from 5 to 7 p.m.“The Future of African Americans in Politics” lecture on Feb. 17 at 6 p.m.
