Minister Senzo Mchunu says adding manpower will help in combating crime.
Residents of the bay aired their concerns regarding the high crime plaguing the city -including robberies, hijacking, safety issues within schools and poor police visibility.
“We are seeking a cooperation, agreement, particularly with the metro police because we want to increase personnel on the ground and in all areas where there is a crime hotspot or not. We are going to have police all around. And this is one way we are going to do this and that will add immediately 300 police, working side by side with South African Police Service, aligned and all of them looking at hot spots in a united and aligned way.
Another resident says, ” We have a problem of a high rate of crime in our communities. People are robbed day and night. They get hijacked and their phones are taken.” Any cookies that may not be particularly necessary for the website to function and is used specifically to collect user personal data via analytics, ads, other embedded contents are termed as non-necessary cookies.
