Ally McCoist refuses to suggest that Arsenal have bottled it in the title race AFC
Ally McCoist refuses to subscribe to any suggestion that Arsenal have bottled it in the title race after Manchester City hit top form.have enjoyed a great season by their own standards but are now at serious risk of being caught by Pep Guardiola’s side in the hunt for the Premier League crown after dropping points from winning positions against Liverpool and West Ham.
While Arsenal’s focus is firmly on the Premier League title, City still have the treble in their sights having secured a spot in the semi-finals of both the FA Cup and Champions League where they’ll face Sheffield United and Real Madrid respectively.McCoist was discussing the title race and suggested that while Real Madrid are the greatest threat to City’s treble hopes, he refused to be drawn into claims that Arsenal have ‘bottled’ the title race.
Speaking on talkSPORT Breakfast, McCoist said: “I’m going to tell you something now, they [City] have got a serious chance of getting that treble. “They really have, however, the question is who has got the better chance of stopping them? In my opinion, it’s Real Madrid without doubt on current form. “In Arsenal’s defence, in normal circumstances a draw at Anfield and a draw against West Ham fighting for their lives isn’t a disaster, but the fact that they were 2-0 up in both games is what doesn’t look good at all.”
