It’s easy to look and see a slightly different Brooke Henderson on the golf course as the 2023 LPGA season kicks off this week in Florida.

Last summer, six years after becoming the youngest winner of the Women’s PGA Championship, Henderson claimed her second major championship at the Evian Championship in France. That second major win was a pressure the Smiths Falls, Ont. native was beginning to notice as years went by.Article content

“You can practice as much as you want, but competition is always different in all aspects,” Henderson said about the club change after Thursday’s round. “It’s a big change once you get to the competition.”Article content Dave Henderson has coached his daughter Brooke since the beginning, and sister Brittany continues to caddie for the 12-time LPGA winner.

“I think with my sister, the caddie-player relationship is also a tough one sometimes but she’s my best friend and I wouldn’t want anyone else out there,” she said. “We get to travel around the world together and it’s just the perfect setup really.” Last season, Henderson made two significant changes on the greens, switching full-time to a left-hand-low grip with her putter and leaving the flagstick in on every putt.
