Pretty convenient 👍🏻 Maxis AppleiPhone TechNave
rings another feature for Maxis customers in our country, which is the ability to convert physical SIM to eSIM directly on the iPhone.
First spotted by LowYat.net, the feature is called “eSIM Quick Transfer” and also allows Maxis customers to transfer existing eSIMs from their old devices to a new iPhone or iPad without having to visit their nearest Maxis Stores. According to the Maxis official website, in order to convert your existing physical SIM to eSIM on the iPhone, follow these steps:
Afterwards, key in the SMS OTP from Maxis and a screen will pop-up saying “eSIM transfer successful”. Easy as that! Do note that this is currently available for Maxis users using iPhone 11 and newer running iOS 16.2. Given that the feature is part of the latest iOS version, other telco companies may follow suit and offer this service to their customers too.
