Mavic revamps affordable alloy Allroad gravel road wheelsets with wider rims, easier hookless UST tubeless & reliable lightweight tech…
Mavic is back in gear. And these completely revamped aluminum Allroad wheelsets mean they aren’t just developing superlight, super expensive carbon wheels. Calling the Allroad SL & Allroad S gravel-ready road wheels, they feature all-new modern wide hookless rim sections and true tubeless compatibility. Classic tech-focused Mavic wheelsets, they’re reasonably light and affordable alloy wheels, promising performance you can rely on.
The wider rims do mean the new wheels add between 25-65g that the previous 22mm internal generation. But I’d call that a small price to pay for larger tire volume, more comfort, more grip, and presumably lower rolling resistance, too.The wheels are built with Mavic’s latest Infinity alloy hubs. That then gives them centerlock disc, automatic sealed bearing preload, and Shimano, SRAM XD-R & Campy Ekar compatibility.
Both new wider Mavic aluminum gravel wheels are available now – either on their own front/rear or as complete wheelsets. The Best Road Bike Saddles of 2023
