After a week of making Mavericks history, Luka Doncic received NBA-wide recognition, too.
The NBA on Monday announced Doncic as its Western Conference Player of the Week for games Feb. 7-13. Bulls guard DeMar DeRozan earned the East title. While leading Dallas to a 2-1 record last week, Doncic averaged 43 points, 10.3 rebounds, 8.3 assists and 1.0 blocks in 37.3 minutes a game.Doncic droppedIn Saturday’s rematch, Doncic reeled off 23 fourth-quarter points to finish with a game-high 45 — his second-highest scoring mark of the season — and to position himself for a potential game-winning 3-pointer.
Doncic scored 129 total points in the week, the most over a three-game span in franchise history, according to the Mavericks’ PR department.In team history, only Dirk Nowitzki has earned the award more.
