A task team has been appointed and the case is being considered a priority.
Gauteng Premier David Makhuru visited the family of Sibusiso Khwinana on Thursday morning, telling them that police have identified suspects in the case, although they have not yet been arrested.
“Talent from our townships is something [that], once discovered, must be nurtured and not destroyed.”A family member fought back tears as she thanked Makhura for his visit, which she said “brings us comfort as a family”. “The team is briefing me daily and have also assured me that they are keeping the family informed,” he said, adding that he was “confident in the progress they are making”.
