The Mattel CEO has responded to Will Ferrell's portrayal of him in the upcoming Barbie movie from Greta Gerwig.
Greta Gerwig’s upcoming movie stars Margot Robbie as the lead character and Ryan Gosling as Ken. “Barbie and Ken are having the time of their lives in the colorful and seemingly perfect world of Barbie Land,” reads the synopsis. “However, when they get a chance to go to the real world, they soon discover the joys and perils of living among humans.”
Will Ferrell appears in the film as the Mattel CEO in a few sequences that lampoon corporate America and the patriarchy. Kreiz, the real-life CEO, had a positive reaction to Ferrell’s portrayal.. “There are so many elements of humor and self-deprecation in the movie. And we embrace that. We take our brands very seriously. We take what we do very seriously. But we don’t take ourselves too seriously.”Barbie will release on July 21, 2023, by Warner Bros. Pictures.
