Just days after the 2023 matric exams started, an impostor was caught at a school in KwaZulu-Natal trying to write for a part-time candidate.

An invigilator prevented cheating after an alleged impostor was caught trying to write a matric exam for a part-time candidate in one of the top-performing schools in KwaZulu-Natal. The incident happened at Phendukani Full Service School in New Castle under the Amajuba District in KwaZulu-Natal.has condemned the incident in the strongest possible terms.
The department’s spokesperson, Muzi Mahlambi, said reports indicate an imposter writing on behalf of the candidate on 31 October 2023 at Phendukani Full Service School. Mahlambi said an invigilator noticed someone sitting on behalf of the candidate who was supposed to be posing as a part-time candidate.Minister Angie Motshekga briefing the media ahead of the Matric Exams which begin tomorrow, 30 October 2023.
