Mathew Shea's Below Deck Med Injury Explained Mathew mainly mentioned his knee injury to highlight how the Below Deck franchise didn’t care for him. During Below Deck Med season 6, the Rhode Island chef missed time on the boat due to various accidents. At one point, he experienced “the worst burn of his life,” which caused him to seek medical attention. Before that, he didn’t show up for the first charter due to a knee injury he picked up after bringing his provisions on board.
Despite Mathew’s history on Below Deck, he is right to call out people and accuse them of covering up Gary’s alleged scandal. His public Instagram Stories may or may not push the higher-ups to investigate the incident and discover what happened. His intervention may also cause the Below Deck franchise and production company to build some safety rules. Makeup artist Samantha’s big concern was the alleged lack of limitations on alcohol consumption.
