Mater Dei Catholic Crusaders back in SoCal Regionals and a big reason why is the senior connection between quarterback Dominic Nankil and receiver Jerry McClure
Quarterback Dominic Nankil and receiver Jerry McClure have hooked up no less than 85 times over the last two seasons and the Mater Dei Catholic seniors aren’t done yet.
“Dom and I have been together since middle school,” said McClure said of Nankil. “We played football, and basketball. We’re best friends off the field. We know how each other plays. All those hours together, the friendship, helps when it’s crunch time. “I always look to throw,” said Nankil, who is committed to the University of San Diego. “And when I’m forced out of the pocket, the receivers know where to go — deep, middle and shallow.
Aside from Nankil and McClure, linebacker Tre Edwards has committed to UCLA, while offensive-defensive lineman Talon Beltran and defensive back Chris Snyder have multiple college offers. The Crusaders have a chance to finish with a 3,000-yard passer , a 1,000-yard receiver and a 1,000-yard running back .
