Elliott intensified into a bomb cyclone Friday, hitting the Great Lakes and East Coast with wind, snow and coastal flooding. More than 4,000 flights nationwide had been canceled as of Friday morning, according to FlightAware, snarling a weekend of heavy holiday travel.
Oakland and San Jose airports are experiencing similar mounds of cancellations, with OAK reaching 55 total in the past 24 hours and 52 cancellations at SJC.Scott Wintner with SJC clarified how the data from FlightAware is tracked.
