The White Marlin Open is the world's largest billfish tournament

The ‘Floor Reel’ fishing boat out of Ocean City, Maryland, brought the 50th annual White Marlin Open to a thunderous conclusion Friday.
The prize was a meaty $6.2 million out of the estimated $10.5 million prize pool, according to multiple reports. Among the participants was NBA legend Michael Jordan and the crew of his ‘Catch 23′ Viking 80 sportfish yacht. Floor Reel’s bounty measured 118 inches. The $6.2 million won set a new world record, breaking the previous haul of $4.45 million in last year’s Open for his 77.5-pound white marlin.
