Ofgem announced last week that the energy price cap will fall to £1,568 from July 1 - but bills are set to rise again ahead of winter
Martin Lewis has explained why some people get confused about fixing their energy bills - and whether now is the right time to lock in a low price.
"Of course, this isn't set in stone - the predictions can significantly change over time," MSE told its subscribers. "But at the moment, it doesn't look great over the next year." He explained that Ofgem's price cap only impacts a firm's standard variable tariff and not the fixes, as they are not capped. Fixed rates are offered based on how cheaply retail energy firms can buy energy at the time they offer the fix.
