Marti Pellow appeared at Manchester's AO Arena on Sunday evening

There was one particular song many at Manchester’s AO Arena wanted to hear during Marti Pellow’s headline Sunday evening show.

The big song from the box office smash became such a hit, staying at the top of the charts for 15 weeks, that Pellow and his Wet Wet bandmates eventually asked for it to be withdrawn. Pellow might have been a little bored of the song back then but, 30 years on, he certainly wasn’t on Sunday evening in Manchester.Clearly appreciating what it means to say many, and the impact it had on his career, Pellow, now a solo artist, gave it everything he had.

Pellow stopped in Manchester as part of his current run of UK gigs. The tour is celebrating Wet Wet Wet’s 1987 record Popped In Souled Out. The concert split into two segments with Pellow performing the album in full with part two, that saw the frontman change out of a smart suit into his casuals, consisting of Wet Wet Wet’s biggest hits.
