A text message apparently calling for the invocation of martial law that allegedly came from RepMTG should not be entered into the court record, the congresswoman's lawyers argue.

Greene has"no recollection" of the alleged text and has no means of verifying its authenticity, her lawyers argued in a court filing Thursday that sought to keep the text out of the supplemental record in a case aiming to boot her from Georgia's Republican primary.

“There is no copy of it in its original form and no verifiable source that CNN claims to have gotten it from. As a result, there is no one to cross-examine, and this is hearsay within hearsay,” they wrote, per NBC. However, on Monday, CNN published a trove of text messages from former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows, including one text in which she apparently noted some people had pushed for martial law.

"I don't know on those things. I just wanted you to tell him. They stole this election. We all know. They will destroy our country next. Please tell him to declassify as much as possible so we can go after Biden and anyone else," she allegedly added.
