The MapleLeafs have signed 2016 second-round pick Egor Korshkov to two-year, entry-level contract.

The 22-year-old, selected in the second round of the 2016 NHL Draft, will join the American Hockey League’s Toronto Marlies on a professional tryout for their Calder Cup playoff run. Korshkov had five points in 19 regular season games this year for Lokomotiv Yaroslavl of the Kontinental Hockey League while adding three assists in nine post-season matchups.Korshkov helped Russia capture silver at the 2016 world junior championship and finished the tournament 10th in scoring with eight points.
The Marlies open their second round AHL playoffs series against the Cleveland Monsters on Wednesday night.
