Mitch Marner ran his point streak to 11 games, tied for second-longest in his career and two off his personal best of 13 games, accomplished last season. Marner assisted on a first-period goal by Auston Matthews.
The Devils played as advertised. With their speed and smarts, they haven’t been giving their opponents much room to work, and it was no different before a crowd of 18,189.
