An unhoused man was shot by officers when he emerged from bushes while holding a stick and a bag of recyclable bottles and cans., 59; shot Aug. 21, 2021, by Guadalupe police.
Chavez was driving home from a gym when he was involved in a non-injury traffic accident. He reportedly acted aggressively toward CHP officers at the scene, and one of them opened fire., 34; shot Sept. 28, 2021, in Santa Ana by Anaheim police officers. Lopez, allegedly driving a stolen car, was pursued by Anaheim officers into Santa Ana. He pulled over and refused to get out of the car. Officers used a chemical bomb to flush him out, and when he emerged, four of them opened fire.
