Manqoba Mngqithi's contract at Sundowns is coming to an end in July but with Kaizer Chiefs vacancy open, he might be tempted to jump ship.
Mamelodi Sundowns assistant coach Manqoba Mngqithi has been linked with a move to Kaizer Chiefs with his contract coming to an end soon.
The former Golden Arrows coach joined Masandawana in 2014 as the assistant to then-head coach Pitso Mosimane. He served in the role until 2020 when ‘Jingles’ left the Tshwane Giants for Al Ahly. Mngqithi alongside Rulani Mokwena and Steve Komphela were appointed co-head coaches.In the past few weeks, Manqoba Mggqithi has been linked to a move to Chiefs. Manqoba Mngqithi’s future at Sundowns is almost secured but his desire to be head coach might lead him to Kaizer Chiefs. When asked if he was considering a move away from Chloorkop, the KZN-born coach lashed out.“But all I can say first is we are living in a world where there is freedom of expression, and everyone has the right to say what they want.
“Because of luck, we are also conveniently placed in positions where we purposefully forget what we like to forget and remember what we like to remember. “If you remember very well, I was one of the youngest coaches in the league and only one team at that time in KZN . It was Golden Arrows,” Mngqithi saidWith Komphela leaving last season, Manqoba Mngqithi might be the next to depart and Chiefs could be his next destination.
