Manie Libbok kicking 'woes': lack of BMT or faulty kicking technique?
The reaction to Manie Libbok missing the last-minute penalty against La Rochelle - which cost the Stormers a place in the Champions Cup quarter-finals - drew two predictably divided narratives from the South African rugby community: that at best he has a problem with his kicking technique, or at worst he lacks big match temperament.
Exactly four months before, Libbok had been faced with a kick from practically the same blade of grass against the exact same opponents. But because he nailed it and secured a one-point win against the tournament's defending champions, who have won the last two titles back-to-back, the World Cup-winning flyhalf apparently had Springbok ice coursing through his veins.
By missing it and ending up at the wrong end of those infuriating one-point defeats the Boks made a habit of avoiding at the sharp edge of the World Cup, his BMT was apparently found wanting.South Africans need to be in the know if we want to create a prosperous future.
